The Lost Girl

Hello everyone!

It's obviously been a while since I've posted anything but I want to get back in the swing of things although this post is going to be different than my older ones.

Lately I've been having a hard time trying to figure out what it is I want to do for the rest of my life. I've been out of high school for almost 3 years now and I still feel completely blind to what it is I want to do. I did attend college for one semester but I just felt like it wasn't for me. I also finished cosmetology school but seeing as I moved out of the state I completed cosmo school in, I would have to go back to school to practice in another state.

I just wondered if any of you guys had any tips or stories on how you found what it is that you wanted to do forever and how you knew. I'm only 20 so I am still young but I don't like the idea of just wasting valuable time being stuck and confused with no idea what to do or even how to begin.

Perfect Pale Pink

I've been trying to find a pale pink lip combination for a while now and all the lipstick and lipgloss combos I've tried never seem to do the trick. Some are too nude. Some have to much glitter. Whatever the case made be, I found it impossible to find the perfect shade I was looking for. After giving up I just happen to go into a store (I can't remember the name of it.) while I was in Houston, and I only went in because I saw they sold NYX products. Where I'm from there are no NYX products in sight. My best bet would be to order them online but I rarely like to do that with makeup because you can't really tell what the products looks, feels, or will be like unless you actually test it out in person. Anyway, getting back on track, I was just looking at the products when I found the PERFECT pair. It's the NYX lipstick in Marrakesh Pink and the NYX lipgloss in Nude Pink. The lipstick is a matte color which means it has no shine, no glitter, etc. It's just the solid color and the its is buildable which is perfect. The lipgloss color is exactly like the name--Nude Pink. It has a really good smell the downfall to the lipgloss is that it is a bit sticky but not too sticky. What's your perfect pale pink combo?

Maxi skirt?

After two weeks of my family being apart, we finally had the time to reunite. This Labor Day weekend we all got together where my sister and I are staying. Because there isn't much to do in the city we stay in, we decided to go to Atlanta and just kind of sight see. We didn't really care what we did as long as we got to spend time as a family. We ended up going to Atlantic Station in Atlanta and if you've ever been to Universal Studios, it reminded me of the section that they have the imitation Rodeo Drive. Atlantic Station has a bunch of stores and it has actual roads but it seems like you can't really drive on them. I don't think I gave a very good description of it. Lol. Anyway, if you're  in the Atlanta area you should definetaly go check it out!

Now, onto my outfit. My "maxi skirt" may look familiar and that's probably because it's actually a maxi dress. This is the maxi dress I wore in my first fashion blog post. I didn't want to wear it as a dress so I just tucked in the top part and put a casual white v-neck with it. See, there are many different ways you can wear what you have. You just have to use your imagination to help you see a "new" article of clothing. (:

Fall into fall!

So, I know what you all are thinking, "Fall?? Why is she talking about fall?" Yes, it is a bit early to be talking about fall but it's not too early. Fall is a little less than a month away and I don't know about you guys but I'm SO ready for it!I'm excited for the weather to change and nature to change with it. Today I decided to share my insight on some trends I have noticed that will be sticking around for the fall time as well as some new trends that will be coming in just for fall. Okay, so starting with previous trends that will be sticking .

1)Neon-From shoes, blouses, and skirts to nail polishes, bags, and all other accesories the neon trend was everywhere this summer and like myself, I'm sure all of you gave in at least once. For the fall, unlike how it was worn in the summer, neon is to be used more subtly. Instead of wearing a neon blouse for fall you should tone it down and let your neon add just a pop of color to your outfit. For example, wear all black and carry a neon clutch or wear neon pumps. You can even go as subtle as just having a neon nail polish. So when it comes to wearing neon in the fall remember: less is more! 2)Peplum- My question is, who HASN'T jumped on the peplum train this summer?? You see peplum shirts, peplum dresses, peplum skirts-peplum was added to whatever it could be added to! This trend has been so popular mainly because of the flattering figure it gives of when you wear it. It gives the illusion of a bigger top and a more slim waist. To rock the peplums for fall, you mainly have to pay attention to the color peplum you choose and the cut of the peplum. You can always play it safe by sticking to the ever classic black and white colors and of course any darker colors because we are talking about fall. As for the cut, steer clear of the assymetrical peplum because even a cute cardigan or peacoaat can't make that look wearable during fall. 3)Spikes- The spike trend is by far my favorite and I'm so glad that it will be sticking as we transition into a different season. There really is not wrong way to go with the spike trend. Adding it to your wardrobe instantly gives a sense of rough and toughness.

Now onto the new trends for fall. Military- The military style is a must for the fall. The forrest green and khaki colors that come with it are what make it an essentials for the fall. When adding military to your closet you can go as crazy as you want. I, personally,  would invest in a cute military style jacket and a pair of military boots--the bonus of the boots is that you can find a pair with or without  a heel! My final trend observation for the fall is Leather! Like the spike trend, leather will with out a doubt add that tough feeling to anything you pair it with. You can also play the leather down to give it a softer look. So if you're not into looking so rough but want to try out the leather trend I would pair it with the more dark purple and red colors and if you prefer the edgier look go wild! Pair your leather with spikes, dark green colors, or a dark smokey eye!

Dress like a lady, think like a boss

I found my title very appropriate as it fit very well with my "business woman" outfit. (: I've been in love with sheer blouses for quite some time now and I've been finding so many cute and affordable ones at TJ Maxx. I wore this outfit for church today so enjoy!

Neon Craze

Sorry for my lack of posts. I've been doing nothing but working which means I have no need to be fashionable. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this outfit post. This is what I wore on a lunch date with a friend and my sister. We went to Jasmine Cafe & Lounge and for dessert we went to Fuzions for some frozen yougurt.

From day to night

There are many different ways to style one piece of clothing and here I show how I took one shirt from a casual day outfit to a more glamorous night outfit with the help of a few other pieces of clothing.  (Very brief description thanks to my bf who wouldn't let me concentrate. lol)
